Recently I had the honor to be interviewed by rasarasa.net. The article ‘The Accidental Food Blogger’ appeared in the section – Talking Food, whereby they recorded views of people who contribute to the promotion of Malaysian food.

The entire on-line interview, which revolved mainly about myself and my food website from the foundation where it all started, was published on the 15th October 2010.

Finding a place of accommodation in Kuala Lumpur is a breeze with its plenty of hotels. For short trip, staying in the hotel would be right, but when there is a need to be away from home for a longer period of time, serviced apartments and its abundance of facilities and services are most preferred.

On my last trip down to Kuala Lumpur, I had the chance to experience a week stay at the serviced apartment in Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur. Located in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle on Jalan Conlay, the Prince Residence’s serviced apartment is a stroll away from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Petronas Twin Towers and minutes drive away from the Embassy Row on Jalan Ampang. What’s more, Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, Pavilion and the many cafes, restaurants and bars, are a leisure stroll away!

I have been devouring tong-sui (Chinese dessert) stalls for years, so it was a great discovery when I finally found Sweet-i. The tong-sui stall operated by Soon and his wife for the last few years in Sungai Dua, has a wonderful sweet range of Chinese style desserts.

Previously located on the roadside at Jalan Helang, the tong-sui stall has since shifted into a nearby house. Customers can enjoy the desserts with sit-down service in the comfort setting of the house.

A rich and colorful Peranakan wedding!

Baba-Nyonya wedding ceremony is fast disappearing and forgotten by many except for a handful of the older generation. In the heritage town of Penang, there has been a strong call for couples to revive this heritage by taking their vows in this traditional style. Won’t it be a lovely change for couples to wed in a truly unique traditional showcase of rich and colourful Baba-Nyonya culture?

Taiwan Foods is located in Double 33 Kopitiam, a corner shop lot along Jalan Aziz Ibrahim, with the Queensbay Mall just a stone’s throw away. This place is perfect for a simple quick lunch. The menu is pretty straight forward, serving mostly rice dishes and noodle dishes with several types of braised meat.

Whenever we are near the area, we would drop by for a meal in this stall, which is on the same row with the Kampar Fish Jelly Restaurant.
