Comfort of Home – Serviced Apartment

Finding a place of accommodation in Kuala Lumpur is a breeze with its plenty of hotels. For short trip, staying in the hotel would be right, but when there is a need to be away from home for a longer period of time, serviced apartments and its abundance of facilities and services are most preferred.

On my last trip down to Kuala Lumpur, I had the chance to experience a week stay at the serviced apartment in Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur. Located in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle on Jalan Conlay, the Prince Residence’s serviced apartment is a stroll away from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Petronas Twin Towers and minutes drive away from the Embassy Row on Jalan Ampang. What’s more, Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, Pavilion and the many cafes, restaurants and bars, are a leisure stroll away!

My one bedroom fully furnished apartment on the 25th floor was spacious and came with all the qualities of a hotel along with home facilities. The design and the lightnings create a relaxing and comfortable mood.

The apartment came with a modern self-contained kitchenette and thoughtful amenities. The kitchen had an extensive counter and its cupboard filled with appliances and cutlery. Being able to get the chance to cook a meal is greatly enjoyable, especially for long term staying.

During the week stay, I enjoyed complimentary breakfast daily in the spacious private haven of the Residence Lounge. On busier days, I just drop by their Chinese restaurant, Ti Zi Heen. This award-winning Chinese restaurant which is best known for its Cantonese cuisine, recently opened its door after undergoing some minor refurbishments.

I savored a selection of dim sum and ala carte dishes prepared by Chef Chong Lim Fong and Master Chef Ricky Thein Yiew Ming. The delights of barbecued chicken buns together with dumplings were served nestled in tiny bamboo steamers.

The lovely crunch of the deep-fried spicy salmon yam puff, beef dumplings and unagi spring roll sticks left me craving for more! I like the innovative technique employed by Chef Chong in preparing the unagi spring roll.

The ala carte dishes with flavorful double boiled soup and tantalizing innovative dishes, including the roasted lamb rack with spicy Mongolian-style tomato sauce was heartily satisfying.

Recommended to try the pan-fried crispy egg noodle with blue river prawn. Topped with prawn roe and egg gravy, it was scrumptious with a blast of sweetness from the large prawn.

The other dish of braised bean curd dressed sitting on spinach puree topped with crab roe was delightfully light and tasty.
