For those who adore a good meal of meat, it is well worth a visit to Farquhar’s Bar at E & O Hotel Penang. The 35-seater English-style bar done up in dark wood brings a breath of fresh air to Penang’s food scene with the serving of their Eat-All-You-Can Traditional Sunday Roast.
Available only on Sundays, the menu is pretty straight forward. Guests are catered for with a selection of Roast Side of Beef, Roast Chicken Breast (with sage & onion stuffing) and Slow-Cooked Lamb Shoulder.
The deeply flavored roasts doctored with a blend of comforting fresh herbs arrived on trays with accompaniments such as Yorkshire pudding, goose-fat roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
The chef carves out portions of chicken, lamb and beef before heaping them on the plate together with Yorkshire pudding, goose-fat roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Follow this up with your choice of sauce: mint sauce, horseradish and Dijon mustard.
Savor the roasts with fresh salad, green peas, buttery mashed potatoes, along with a bowl of velvety warm potato leek soup.
Aside from the selection of meats, the menu also offers desserts. To finish, there are fresh fruits and spiced bread & butter pudding combined with creaminess of vanilla custard sauce.
For those who want a drink to complement the meal, do check out the bar’s menu which showcased wine, cocktails, beers, whisky and lagers. The June Bug, concocted from Smirnoff Vodka, Midori, Malibu, Banana Monin, lime concentrate and chilled pineapple juice is a refreshing blend and can be added to your meal at an additional cost.
Farquhar’s Bar offers a good Eat-All-You-Can Sunday Roast with its inviting and cozy private club room atmosphere. Priced at only RM68.00 nett per person,it is a pretty sweet deal. The Sunday roast runs from 12pm till 4pm.
