See Kong Ooi Restaurant in Transfer Road Penang which specializes in Hainanese and Hokkien chu char dishes is fondly refer as Sai Kong Huin by most of the Penangites Hokkien. It has been around for several decades now, and is still going strong until today!

Recently, I was invited by Ann Kee of Young Heart Restaurant at Pulau Tikus to a food testing session as they are launching their Chinese New Year Special Dishes. Together with a group of food bloggers, we visited this restaurant located on Cantonment Road. I truly enjoyed the food of my last visit to this restaurant with my family.

This restaurant with its motto; The Fragrance of the Refreshment comes from the Heart has been around since 2005, emphasizes on simple dishes that do not reliant much on extra artificial flavoring.

This time around a few food bloggers and myself were invited by well known and talented bakers, Big Boys Oven to do a review at the Shanghaineses Restaurant, Dragon-i at Queensbay Mall, Penang. This restaurant is famous for their many varieties of non-halal Shanghainese cuisine.

I was looking forward to do this review as I still remembered not too long ago I was indulging myself with family and friends on their Mid-Autumn Festiva Banquet set meal which all of us truly enjoyed.

Recently, a few of the Penang Food Bloggers were invited to a food tasting & review of Miss Saigon, Penang. This trendy Vietnamese restaurant located at the prime area of E-Gate with bustling atmosphere faces the Jelutong Expressway with the view extending out to the Penang Bridge. It was an opportunity for us to discover some unique Vietnamese cuisine, and also having able to taste all the food in this restaurant’s recently revamped menu. The new menu, which is pork free has a total of thirty-one new items with varieties ranging from salad, rice noodles, sandwiches and summer rolls.

I would like to add in a word of compliments to the Management of Miss Saigon for their innovative and forward thinking. I have come to know that the restaurant previously did not receive a lot of positive comments. As a pro-active team management, they have constructively used the feedback from the  bloggers to improve their menu and the restaurant as a whole.

TGIF at Queensbay Mall, Penang serves great food and happens to be the place that we went to last weekend. As we already had a late breakfast, we went in for a light snack and a drink instead. This unique miniature cable car caught my eye on my way in.

We were glad to see them having a new menu. While glancing through, I noticed that a few new items has been added to the appetizer, main course, desserts and juices.

My eyes suddenly sparkle when I saw this cute Mini Desserts. These desserts are served in mini glasses. There are a total of five mini delights to choose from. We had  three out of the five. The prices varies depending on the the number of glasses that you choose. For one mini delight @RM 3.90,  three @RM 9.90 and five @ RM 15.90. The more you order, the cheaper it gets per glass.

7th of October is indeed a very beautiful day for me and my family, and ultimately my food blog! We decided to take a giant leap by forming our own domain instead of relying on Blogspot anymore. Its not that Blogspot is not any good, it has served me well over the months; however I find that What2See needs more room for expansion, thus getting the new domain.

It has been a very exciting 24 hours for me, from re-editing all the widgets to dealing with the new Hosting company. Very very fortunately, I have had help from the legendary Ken Chan! He has helped me in more ways than one; transferring all the old post, building up the template, walking me through every step of the way… Ken, you rock! To Huat Koay of PTP , who helps in the debugging and guiding me on the know how of WordPress. Thank you very much to both of you

Big shoutout too to my Hubby and Son for supporting me in this transition, couldn’t have done it without all you guys!
