Established under the Texchem Group, Miraku in G Hotel is a great place for customers to enjoy Japanese food. The main cuisine at this fine dining restaurant is Japanese food, with ala carte dishes and course menus.

Executive Chef Masaki Kurihara came up with creative dishes using seasonal and premium ingredients flown in from Japan, for traditional Japanese menus ranging from RM100.

It was an evening of dining and French wines at Tiffins, the fine dining restaurant in Parkroyal Penang Resort. The evening gave us the chance to explore wines from the estates of Baron Edmond de Rothschild.

Nestled within Bellisa Row in Penang’s bustling Pulau Tikus is Cassis, a fine dining restaurant. The cozy restaurant with a dining hall upstairs is decorated with a huge chandelier. Despite being only opened several months, Cassis is already drawing in the crowds and had garnered a following of diners.

Hubby and I recently enjoyed a six course set dinner in this restaurant which is helmed by the relatively young Chef Weng. His last stint was at Wino’s, Margaret River in Perth before coming back to Penang.

Enjoy pleasant service, inviting ambiance and quality fine Hunan and Sichuan cuisine from Chin’s Stylish Chinese Cuisine. This latest Penang fine dining restaurant has its prime seaside location in Church Street Pier overlooking the calm waters of the harbor and George Town behind it.

Elegant detailing in the interior of the restaurant

Chin’s which was opened a few months ago was everything of a fine dining restaurant, casual and elegant dining with delicate and delicious food, wine and a sense of pampering.

The ambience was welcoming as I step inside the waiting area of the restaurant passing through its striking red glass door – there to greet me is owner Dave Chin.

My family had a wholesome Chinese New Year Reunion dinner at Sesame Restaurant on the first floor of G-Hotel. This year we opted to celebrate the dinner with fine dining.

The set menu features an array of fine dining Chinese cuisine created by Sesame’s Chef de Cuisine, Vincent Lee that pairs traditional and contemporary flavors together. The menu @ RM138++ per person has a selection of ‘Yee Sang’, soup, exquisite dishes and dessert which are traditional in essence.

My First Dining Experience of Croatian Cuisines!

My trip down to Kuala Lumpur this time around was graced by a food review invitation to Dubrovnik, a fine-dining Croatian restaurant in a two storey building nestled in the bustling Solaris Mont Kiara. It was indeed a unique European Mediterranean dining experience.

A crest can be seen in the entrance glass panel. Upon stepping into this restaurant, you could feel yourself being enveloped by a truly homely feeling with stone walls and high pillars creating a nice and cozy ambience. There’s a lounge on the ground floor for customers to mingle about and a cozy dining area in the upper floor.

The Sire Museum Restaurant in the financial district of Georgetown is open to the public recently after a soft opening. The restaurant is inside a building ideally situated in No.4, King Street which belongs to the Yeap Chor Ee family.

This building has been restored and beautifully refurbished and turned into a museum cum restaurant which serves delicious food.

We celebrated Father’s Day two days earlier at this beautiful restaurant.

The fine dining restaurant on the ground floor is managed by the same owner of Ferringhi Garden. We had a chat with their Executive chef, Mr Yeoh Woei Liang who also runs the kitchen in Ferringhi Garden. We learned that even though it is under the same management, the menu and the food has been developed differently for each restaurant respectively.

This is the view that greeted us when we stepped inside.

Moving further in; the second section of the dining hall which is simply breathtaking. The high ceiling and the white glass panel wall at the rear give us an impressive feeling. The whole hall was tastefully decorated with freshly cut flowers and well tended plants.

The complementary basket of garlic bread and the plate of salad was a pleasant start to our dinner.

To start off our dinner, each of us had a share of the Baked Cheese on Smoked Salmon sandwich.

I opted for the Baked Pan Sealed Red Snapper which is infused in olive oil with fragrance garlic and seasoned with salt & pepper. It was aromatic, light and fresh tasting.

My son’s plate of carbonara spaghetti with turkey ham and assorted mushroom and seafood, tasted superb. It was garnished with chopped herbs and grated cheese. With a tinge of spiciness, this dish tasted much better and different from the usual creamy carbonara spaghetti.

Hubby had the Lamb Shank braised in tomato concasse with mirepoix – which is a blend of Tuscan herbs. It is served with pistachio mint sauce. Hubby just love its tantalizing aroma.

As there was an opening promotion (read below), ice-cream and coffee was on the house. Nice!

The surroundings of the dining hall is brightly lit with potted plants hanging from the wall. What was more impressive was the dinning area which was restored and designed to give their customers a modern and contemporary atmosphere with a bit of the olden days charm. This mixture puts one into a sense of calmness and relaxing experience.

After the meal, we took a tour around the museum of the upper floor which is filled extensively with the family heirlooms, pictures and paintings. More can be view at this post, which is solely about this museum. Here is a peek on what’s in store.

Beautiful ambiance, soothing music and delicious food plus the friendliness of the staff makes The Sire an ideal venue for lunch, dinner or a snack. Our first visit at The Sire is definitely one to remember for us especially so when it is to celebrate Father’s Day.

This stylish restaurant is currently having a special opening food promotion from now till 21st June. Customers gets to enjoy free appetizer, dessert and coffee or tea for every main course.

Happy Father’s Day to all!

San Francisco Steak House, Mid Valley

Posted by: CK Lam    in KL / PJ, Western Cuisine

On our last night stay in Kuala Lumpur, my brother and sister took us makan-makan at San Francisco Steak House (which is not available in Penang) at Mid Valley . Unlike TGIF and Chillies, this outlet is more of a fine dining restaurant.

We had a hard time choosing our food as there was a wide range of choices of food on the menu. Finally, all of us opt for the oxtail soup and garlic bread for starters.

The garlic bread is one of the tastier ones that we had so far… with generous amount of garlic and butter.

Finally our food came, and this is my plate…. baked lobster with a piece of steak.

On that night, the happiest person would be my hubby. He received a special present from our eldest son… a T H watch. He was so moved by our son’s gesture that he was in tears. Thank you so much to MYen…

and also thanks to my brother and sister for the lovely dinner.
