An amazing night with delicious cheese and wine, friends and adorable dogs!

Recently I had the pleasure of attending the ‘Irish Cheese and Wine Party’ hosted by the General Manager of Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa, Mr Desmond Hatton at his personal residence. This annual get-together event sees the presence of elite members of Penang’s corporate community, leaders of the hospitality and travel trade industry, and special friends of the Shangri-La.

How about by celebrating the coming Year of the Tiger on board a private yacht? There is nothing more memorable than dining in a yacht. It is an ideal way of celebrating this festival with a night of food, fun and music on a six hour cruise across the pristine seawaters of Southeast Asia in the Lili Marleen.

It departs on 15th February at 7pm from the Swettenham Pier and only return at 2am on 16th February (six-hour cruise). Entrance fee is RM388 per person which is inclusive of dinner and a welcome drink.

I was greatly privileged to receive an invitation for a dinner with the great Dato’ Jimmy Choo! Just the very mention of his name and I am sure many of us will have our mind filled with the world renowned shoe designer who is based in London, United Kingdom. This famous Penang-born designer was recently appointed the Malaysian Tourism Ambassador and Tourism Ministry’s adviser by our Tourism Ministry.

Proud to say, being a Malaysian, Dato’ Jimmy Choo is in the best position to help promote Malaysia at the international level.
