New World Park located in the heart of Georgetown has been billed as a everything-under-one-roof project. It currently houses a number of restaurants, a couple of franchise eateries, a performance pavilion, boutiques and last but not least, the Hawker Center! Food crawling is a good idea as there are plenty of dining options and you can move from one outlet to the other sampling the food Penang has to offer. With the Chinese New Year around the corner, this entertainment outlet, decorated in red has a number of exciting events all lined-up.

Recently, a few of the Penang Food Bloggers were invited to a food tasting & review of Miss Saigon, Penang. This trendy Vietnamese restaurant located at the prime area of E-Gate with bustling atmosphere faces the Jelutong Expressway with the view extending out to the Penang Bridge. It was an opportunity for us to discover some unique Vietnamese cuisine, and also having able to taste all the food in this restaurant’s recently revamped menu. The new menu, which is pork free has a total of thirty-one new items with varieties ranging from salad, rice noodles, sandwiches and summer rolls.

I would like to add in a word of compliments to the Management of Miss Saigon for their innovative and forward thinking. I have come to know that the restaurant previously did not receive a lot of positive comments. As a pro-active team management, they have constructively used the feedback from the  bloggers to improve their menu and the restaurant as a whole.

We had an early breakfast at The Coffee Bean in their Gurney Plaza outlet on this lazy Sunday morning. We were surprised to find the place fully occupied. They offer four scrumptious breakfast sets. Every set meal is well balance with an egg, a meat/fish and salad. This comes with a choice of coffee or tea which is refillable until 11am. We had our meal with freshly brewed coffee.

My choice of sandwich – bread with fillings of cheese, ham and egg together with a salad.

Twin sausages with all time favourite scrambled egg and salad accompanied by two slices of toast bread for my son.

Hubby love the foccacia bread layered with slices of smoked salmon and egg together with a salad.

After the light breakfast, we stayed on for a while to ponder over the newspaper with another cup of refillable hot coffee. Somehow the simple sandwiches tasted so much nicer that those that I make for the family in the morning. Just wondering why? :P

How nice if I could wake up to this type of breakfast everyday…
