Bagels are a popular bread product in western countries. Shaped by hand into the form of a ring, the bagel is first boiled and then baked. Sesame seeds and poppy seeds are the most common toppings.

Many enjoy this “O” shaped bread fresh or toasted with a spread of butter or cream cheese and fillings of seafood, meat or egg.

Sakae Teppanyaki & Izakaya outlet in Autocity Penang has a unique 2-in-1 dining concept under one roof. Its menu has a wide selection of sushi, teppanyaki and fusion specialties; not many Japanese restaurants has the variety of fusion specialties as found in Sakae!

During this visit, I opted to try out the latest items in the menu rather than having the usual Japanese fare of sushi and sashimi.

My family had a wholesome Chinese New Year Reunion dinner at Sesame Restaurant on the first floor of G-Hotel. This year we opted to celebrate the dinner with fine dining.

The set menu features an array of fine dining Chinese cuisine created by Sesame’s Chef de Cuisine, Vincent Lee that pairs traditional and contemporary flavors together. The menu @ RM138++ per person has a selection of ‘Yee Sang’, soup, exquisite dishes and dessert which are traditional in essence.

Fancy having a bowl of piping hot seafood beehoon or pork porridge? I had my share over at Lam Kei located in Nam Thean coffee shop along the busy Jalan Jelutong. This stall has been around for thirty-five years with the second generation taking over now. They have another stall selling this similar food inside Kedai Kopi Leong Huat Seng in Sungai Tiram, near to the Penang Airport.
