Koay Teow Th’ng, also commonly known as KTT is a popular hawker food for Penangites besides the overwhelmingly famous Char Koay Teow, Assam Laksa and Hokkien Mee. Lately I have been patronizing the Duck Meat Koay Teow Th’ng at Lum Lai located in Cecil Street Market Hawker Center, just beside the bustling Cecil Street Market. This street is also known as Chit Tiau Lor to Penangites which represent the 7th Road in that precinct.

Peace & Joy Coffee Shop located in the corner of China Street and Queen Street Penang has a stall selling delicious curry mee! Generally, the curry mee soup itself is very flavorful, while the ingredients top it off beautifully. I noticed this coffee shop on my first chu char visit in the nearby Kedai Makanan Heng Kee.

The basic bowl of Curry Mee comes with ingredients of cockles, cuttle fish, pig jelly and taupok in rich gravy. You can have it with add-on ingredients as well! I love it either way.

During the journey back to Penang we had a Bidor stopover at the well known Pun Chun Restaurant located right in the middle of the town. It has been in existence for many great years and is a popular place for travellers to stop for a meal. The restaurant serves delicious chu char dishes, ark tui mee and wan tan mee. Pun Chun is also famous for their all time favorite Chicken Biscuits (Kai Chai Pang) and Sat Kei Ma (caramalize egg biscuit).
