Putien Gurney Paragon Penang Unveiled Seasonal Eel Dishes 鳗鱼
Putien at Gurney Paragon Penang is offering their seasonal eel specialties 鳗鱼 with the “Japanese eel” variety from Shunde, the “hometown of eels in China.” Weighing between 600 – 800g, the eel provides a thicker flesh and satisfying bite as their diet feed on the good stuff of codfish powder.
With the launched of the eel menu (August till 31st October 2023), diners can look forward to experience an array of steamed, pan-fried, and baked eel creations such as Fresh Eel Cooked In Spring Water, Steamed Eel in Garlic and Soy Bean Sauce, Spicy Pan-Fried Eel, Baked Eel with Puning Bean Sauce, and Eel in Fujian Fermented Red Rice Wine.
For a soupy choice, delight in the simplicity of the Fresh Eel Cooked In Spring Water. It is a comforting blend of fresh eel with ginger, Chinese wolfberries, and salt gently cooked in spring water at the table-side. The simple fish recipe packed with clean fish sweetness and touch of warm ginger is a combo that could easily win fish eaters.

A popular baked item is their Baked Eel with Puning Bean Sauce. Paired with plenty of garlic and onions, and fermented Puning bean sauce, it is a fragrant combination.
