G Ball is back this year, making its fourth annual appearance. The ball has a different theme each year, and this year was “The Greatest Show”. Held at G Hotel Gurney in Penang, the event with a carnival theme was an evening of mystery and extravagance, with plenty to amuse the palate.
It was an atmosphere of fun and entertainment. The venue was decked out with their carnival presentation, completed with stalls offering games and carnival flavour.
Over 300 guests were greeted with a taste of carnival with bites of corn dog, popcorn, ice cream and candy floss paired with wine, beer and specialty cocktails. Many also partake in the carnival games like the ring toss, weight lifting, shooting and hammer machine.
Guests moved onward to the hotel’s Grand Ballroom to be welcomed by a speech by Mr Michael Hanratty, the General Manager of G Hotel.

The evening progressed with a well thought-out five-course menu, featuring an array of wholesome food. For starters, guests enjoyed a seafood appetizer, followed by creamy leek soup, refreshing passionfruit sorbet and slow-cooked chicken drumstick. Not to mention a rhubarb tart with hazelnut crumble and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Exciting performances, lucky draw and best dressed awards rounded off the memorable G Ball 2017 – definitely an event to remember.
