In Bangkok, one recommended restaurant for Italian cuisine is Zanotti Il Ristorante Italiano. Belonging to the Zanotti group, the restaurant located on Saladaeng Road, Silom, is a popular eating place for the nearby corporate crowd.

Zanotti offers an extensive menu with a selection of hand made pastas, antipasto and meat dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and recipes from Northern Italy. The menu also has an impressive list of Old World wines for diners to sip on.

The two of us walked in for lunch. A companion with taste ordered several dishes for sharing. My favorite dish was the dramatic-looking hand made black squid ink pasta: one of the restaurant’s popular dishes. The al-dente pasta with briny squid ink flavor bound together very well with the fresh seafood. Love to have this dish again!

Another highly recommended simple dish was the Insalata Caprese which encompasses the sweet and tart taste of tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and olive oil.
