MIGF – Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2009 at Pacifica, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur with Chef Bastian Mantey

Chef Bastian creations with a fusion of flavors indeed impressed everyone. After the delightful dishes, a creative apple chocolate dessert by Executive Head Pastry Chef Holger Deh was served to us. The mouth watering Chocolate and Apple Concoction of Albaco Ganache and Candied Apples on Olive Oil Sponge and Apple Sorbet was a memorable dessert.

All of us just loved the apple jelly, candied apple, apple sorbet and chocolate with the mango and chocolate  sauce for its sweet, sourish and rich chocolaty taste. It was something I have never tasted before, and it was certainly an indulgence!

Updates as at 6th November 2009 :

On the Grand Finale MIGF 2009 Closing Dinner held on 2nd November 2009, Pacifica won The Golden Cauldron Award for the Best All-Round Restaurant of 2009 (the most important award of all) and also the Most Creative Food Presentation at the Gala Launch.

Lai Poh Heen’s Executive Chinese Chef Bong Jun Choi also walked away with the special award, “Chef Congeniality”.
