The Danna Langkawi – Italian Cuisine @Terrace
During my stay at The Danna Langkawi, I had a pleasant dining experience over Italian creations with great company at Terrace. This swanky Italian restaurant and bar with a combination of a casual but stylish setting offers outdoor dining by the pool and within the comforts of the air-conditioned.
Terrace welcomes in-house and visiting guests to indulge on Italian cuisine presented by Chef Federico Zapper. There is a tempting menu for lunch and dinner with a selection of antipasti and soups, salads, sandwich, pasta, gourmet entrees, pizzas, and desserts.
The dishes prepared with market fresh produce and premium imported meats can be enjoyed accompanied by a wide selection of wines, freshly grounded coffee, and juices.
We had a selection for sharing at the table with choices of handmade fresh pasta, ravioli, antipasti, and dessert.
The Antipasto The Terrace is a splendid ensemble with thoughtful well-balanced flavor pairing and textures. The chef had the dish presented with dried air beef bresaola, sous vide marinated imported duck breast sliced, Italian buffalo mozzarella and marinated vegetable, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, and homemade tomato jam.
A simple vegan option would be the Bruschetta Toscana. Featuring homemade bruschetta with three types of topping – fresh tomato, button mushrooms, and parmigiana, it is an ideal choice to kick off the meal for vegetarians.
We followed this with warm pasta parcels of tortelli, and ravioli, filled with oozing sweet pumpkin puree, and savory centre.

Also, be sure to savor Chef Federico’s pasta dishes, all handmade with an al dente bite. Highlights from the pasta menu include Linguine del Pescatore, Tagliatelle al Pesto di Basilico, and Penne alla Mediterranea.
Comforting umami-rich pasta dish with grated cheese
Besides the dishes we had, the kitchen also storms out a mean pizza, with a range of choices – 4 Formaggi e Porcini, Toscana, Unica, Blanca, to name a few. The 4 Formaggi e Porcini, created out of imported buffalo cheese, gorgonzola, pecorino sardo, smoked scamorza, porcini mushrooms and truffle oil is an interesting vegetarian choice.
There is always room for dessert and not to be missed is the tiramisu. It is surprisingly delicious with Chef Federico’s skill in marrying mascarpone cream, lady finger biscuits wetted in espresso coffee, cacao powder, chocolate and amaretti with a coffee flavored cream shot.
Also, expect to find gluten-free ice cream on the dessert menu. Interesting fresh pick has to the capsicum ice cream and basil ice cream.

A visit to Terrace is sure to thrill anyone who pines for the Italian dining experience. The Italian spot excels in the freshness and simplicity of the ingredients, especially when you observe how Chef Federico doesn’t complicate his dishes.
Starting from the 1st July 2018, Terrace will be serving Traditional Roast from 12.30noon to 3pm for RM98nett per person (without alcoholic beverages). To complete the meal, add on an additional RM70 for house pouring white and red wine, sparkling wine, draught beer, house-pouring spirits, selected cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
