Tuck into the Chinese New Year Prosperity set menus with traditional-style dishes crafted by chef de cuisine Chiam Choon Heng and his team at Sesame + Soy Pan Asian Chinese Cuisine restaurant, at G Hotel, Penang.
The RM128++ six course prosperity set starts with the traditional yee sang made with kwei fei abalone and Norwegian salmon.
There’s also the braised sea treasures chowder to look forward to which comes with a variety of ingredients, including lobster and bamboo fungus.
Chiam is also serving a combination dish which includes deep-fried boneless chicken with kiwi and also sauteed white prawns with tomato, butter and cream cheese.
The menu also includes steamed cod fish with honshimeji mushrooms in a supreme soy sauce.
For vegetables, there is an assorted sea moss and broccoli dish.
For dessert, there is sweetened dried longan with peaches, sea coconut, gingko nuts and lotus seeds. This traditional dessert is different in a good way as it has peaches added to it.
Alternatively, opt for the RM98++ six course prosperity set dinner, which features fatt choy yee sang with Norwegian salmon along with tomato chowder, sauteed white prawns, oven-baked cod fish, Japanese baby octopus and preserved duck meat fried rice. Dessert is sweet corn cream with coconut milk and glutinous rice balls.
