Nothing evokes Christmas like the company of family and friends and nice food. In making life easy this Christmas, why not explore the buffet promotions at Swez Brasserie in Eastin Hotel Penang.
The contemporary international business class hotel debuted several menus and a group of media friends was invited to review the dishes.
The Christmas Eve & Day Buffet Dinner starts at 7pm till 10.30pm on December 24 & 25, 2017 at a price of RM128 nett (senior citizen at RM90 nett). On Christmas Day, the buffet high-tea is served from 12noon till 3pm. It is priced at RM88 nett, (senior citizen at RM60 nett). Children aged six to 11 years old gets to dine at RM44 nett.
The dishes prepared by Executive Sous Chef Mohd Azni and his team of chefs offers sampling of flavors. The meal begins with warm soup, selection of cold cuts and chilled seafood on ice.
For something a bit different, go for the seafood terrine. I love how they serves up this dish – colorful and innovative with reassuring fresh seafood flavors.

For hot delicacies, centre around the hearty flavors of poached garoupa, chicken roulade, chicken cordon bleu, deep-fried cheese ball and spaghetti aglio-olio, alongside fragrant prawns with nutmeg mayo sauce.

Traditional dishes include the chef signature roasted turkey and beef Wellington encased in golden brown flaky puff pastry. The turkey with comforting aromas of fresh herbs is served with roasted apple stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and roasted potatoes. There is also the giblet and cranberry sauce to complete this festive treat.

There were lots of Christmas sweet treats to round off the meal. From the dessert counter, expect to tuck into classical options like floating island with almond and caramel, yule log cake, chocolate truffle cake, cheese cake, tiramisu, creme brulee and fruit-filled stollen. The chef updated the rich tiramisu by serving it in the shape of a cupcake.

Throughout the Christmas season (1 – 26 December, 2017), Eastin Hotel Penang will be taking orders for the roast turkey. Each bird is priced at RM338nett and the kitchen requires two days’ notice.
