A visit to Sigi’s Bar & Grill at Golden Sands Resort along Batu Feringgi Penang had us going through its gourmet burger menu.

The menu by the resort’s executive chef Adrian Lim has an interesting take on meats and seafood, with favourites like the Lamb Kofta Classic, Chicken Cajun Delight, Big Wave Fish Burger, Egg and Cheese Burger, and the Charcoal Bread Burger. Each burger comes with a complimentary soft drink.

The Lamb Kofta Classic has a mix of flavors with a 200g lamb patty, tomatoes, onion dices, foul mudammas, and a layer of cheese served on a sesame seed bun. The dish complete with French fries and lemon wedge is priced at RM58nett.

This April, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts worldwide launched the “Rooted in Nature,” Campaign. The campaign sees the Shangri-La group hosting a month long celebration of the group’s most exceptional food purveyors.

Recently Asiaeuro held the Evans & Tate Margaret River wine dinner at Tiffins Parkroyal Resort Penang. The event had a selection of Margaret Rivers’ finest white and red wines from Evans & Tate paired with a delicious meal crafted by Chef Tan Jee Aun and his team.

Canapes were served and guests enjoyed prawns with coconut curry, air-dried beef on beetroot hummus and feta & mint melon with the 2013 Evans & Tate Gnangara Sauvignon Blanc. The refreshing wine with fresh lime zest, fig, passion fruit and grassy flavours was delightful.

Also present at the event was McWilliam’s Sales Director Asia Pacific, Garrick Harvison. Garrick provided insight of the winery and the varieties of wines

The recent Leeuwin Estate Wine Dinner hosted by Asiaeuro Wines & Spirits Sdn Bhd in Tiffins at Parkroyal Penang Resort was a great way to experience Leeuwin’s wine.

The wines which included Art Series Riesling 2013, Prelude Chardonnay 2010, Siblings Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2011, Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 and Dow’s L.B.V Port 2007 were paired with a range of delicious dishes.

The deli offers seven varieties of sweet and savoury Swiss rolls, including chocolate mango, green tea with red bean, spring onion, dill and thyme, and Nutella hazelnut made with tiger skin sponge cake.

Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang recently introduced the enticing “6 in 1 + P60” Promotion at its Spice Market Café. Diners can savour treats and desserts from the specialty stations offering different types of cuisine, ranging from Japanese, Western, Indian, Chinese and Malay.

According to Suleiman Tunku Abdul Rahman, Director of Communications, the ‘6 in 1’ promotion is a great way for buffet lovers to taste the best of six food promotions. The buffet is available from Sunday to Thursday but the the special price applies for only Monday and Tuesday. For variety, the menu changes every fortnight.

The perfect way to start the meal is with the appetizer, salad and cheese. There is plenty of seafood and the selection of chilled crayfish, oysters and scallops is sure to tempt seafood lovers. A few drops of lemon juice give a welcome freshness to the oyster and there is a variety of dipping sauces to complement the crayfish.
